Evelyn Blythe Obituary


Evelyn White Blythe WINDSOR - Evelyn White Blythe, 81, of Old Myrtle Road, departed this life Nov. 26, 2008, in MCV Hospital in Richmond, Va. She was a native of Tyner in Chowan County, North Carolina, and the daughter of the late Arsie Millard White and Pattie Ward White. She retired as an office employee of the past Leggett's Department Store in Suffolk. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday school class. For several years, she was a member of the church choir. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 20 years, Berkley Draper Blythe; two sisters, Ruby W. Weaver and Dora W. Aston and her husband Nathaniel, all of Suffolk; brother, Roger P. White of Carrsville; also four nieces and four nephews. A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Burial will be at Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Colosse Baptist Church at 6361 Rhodes Drive, Windsor, VA 23487.
