Robert Fabek

Robert Joseph Fabek CHESAPEAKE - Robert Joseph "Bob" Fabek, 53, of Bells Mill Road, passed away Nov. 27, 2008 in his home. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Ann F. Fabek. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ann Fabek. Bob was retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years and was a veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. He was the manager of support services at LifeNet Health. Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Judy Ann Fabek of Chesapeake; a daughter, Heather J. Gulsby and husband Richard of Gautier, Miss.; a son, Jason Robert Fabek and wife Michelle of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Apryl D. Gulsby and Ryan C. Fabek; a brother, Thomas F. Fabek and wife Shirley; three nieces, as well as two K-9 companions, Bubba and Peanut. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. Charles L. Moseley will officiate. The interment with full military honors will follow in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. The viewing will begin Monday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to an animal charity of your choice.
