Norvis Curry

Norvis R. Curry NORFOLK - Norvis Ray Curry, 87, of the 700 block of Denison Court, widow of Deacon Duain R. Curry Sr., slowly passed away Nov. 26, 2008, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was a member of Mount Zion Interdenominational Christian Community Church. Mrs. Curry was a deaconess, Eastern Star, Court of Colanthe, and previously served on the finance committee at Mount Zion. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She cared deeply for family and friends. Mrs. Curry is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Prichett; son, Duain R. Curry Jr.; sister, Pearl Gray; granddaughters, Latosha Mitchell (Alonzo) and Cheneil Goodman; grandson, Cameron Rollins; great-granddaughter, Victoria Mitchell; brothers-in-law, Charles Curry and Willie Curry of South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Elmira Purdie and Sara Curry of Norfolk, Essie Mae Curry of South Carolina; and host of nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral will be held at Mount Zion Interdenominational Christian Community Church, 2345 E. Indian River Road, Wednesday at noon by the Rev. Gregory Chapman.
