Harry Harrell Obituary
Harry P. Harrell Sr. PORTSMOUTH - Harry Perry Harrell Sr., 66, of the 1100 block of Melvin Drive, passed away Nov. 30, 2008, in his residence. He was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Gatesville, N.C., to the late James and Ethel Harrell. Harry retired from Pet Dairy after more 37 years of service, where he served as a past shop steward for the truck drivers union. He was known to most as Harry but to the guys at the dairy he was known as "The King." Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane Harrell; a daughter, Sherry Lynn Harrell of Suffolk; a son, Harry Perry Harrell Jr. and wife Tonya of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Luke, Meredith and "Alex" Harrell; and two sisters, Barbara Ann Clingman and Edna Mae Watkins. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Lee Brown. Entombment will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
