Willie Griffin Obituary


Willie Bell Griffin VIRGINIA BEACH - Willie "Bell" or "Grannie" Griffin, 87, of the 3500 block of Poppy Crest, passed away Nov. 28, 2008. She was a native of Moyock, N.C., and retired after 31 years of services working for the late Dr. James Wright. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. She was predeceased by her husband, John Henry Griffin and mother, Mary Alice Spencer. She is survived by a daughter, Carrie Bell Brown (Mack Lee); one son, Willie Ray Griffin (Eva); three sisters, Flowrine Cox, Mary E. Phillips and Elaine Mcpherson; two brothers, Americus Mcpherson and Edward Mcpherson; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at noon Wednesday in Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ, 2008 Gumbride Road, with Elder Daniel Boston Jr. officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends for remembrance and visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Beach Funeral Services Inc., 4456 Bonney Road.
