Dallas Dilday Obituary


Dallas E. Dilday NORFOLK - Dallas Edward Dilday, 75, of the 900 block of Ocean View Ave., died Nov. 29, 2008, in Norfolk Health Care Center. Mr. Dilday was born in Norfolk, a son of the late Dallas Lee and Celestin Anna Brady Dilday. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and the Norfolk Jaycees. He was a 1950 graduate of Norview High School and attended Old Dominion University. Dallas was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He retired as an accountant and from Nansemond on the Bay. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Anita D. Bene of Norfolk, a niece, two nephews and four great-nieces. A graveside celebration of Mr. Dilday's life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Robert May officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, N.C., is serving the Dilday family.

Dallas was a wonderful person and will truly be missed by all of us at Nansemond On The Bay. His sense of humor and kindness cheered our days together.
