Karen, Kyle and Sam,
I have tried to write in this book so many times. I just end up erasing it and thinking I would try again later. I just wanted to let you know what an impact Ted made in our lives. I remember smacking him as much as I laughed at him. He could always make you laugh. My boys will always remember their Uncle Ted. It makes Chris very sad to talk about him still. He has a hard time understanding why things like that happen. As do the rest of us. He draws Superman a lot, and he never did before.
Jason has the true innocense of a 6 year old. He constantly talks about his uncle Ted. He still rubs his rock and says that he can see him. I truly believe that sometimes he can. Jeff and I lost a brother. We too have not figured out how to deal with that yet.
Ok. I did it and I will not erase it this time.
We love you all so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always and especialy this time of year.

We remember your wedding and wondering if such a young man could make a good husband. He looked like he still had a lot of partying left in him. We remember seeing you at Jeff's wedding and watching Ted play with a very young Kyle and thought how happy he looked. At Chris and Rona's wedding it was so beautiful to see how happy you all were and what a devoted husband and father Ted was. His spirit and zest for life will live on in our memories.

Karen, Kyle & Sam,
They say you can't judge a book by it's cover - I say that isn't true. I only met Ted once (and it was fairly recent), but I couldn't help thinking what a "cool guy" he must have been. Then hearing the stories at the service, I knew my first impression was right.
I know it's hard to not have him in your life anymore - I want you to know that after hearing more about him I find it hard to have NOT had him in mine. I think we would have been good friends.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

To Ted's family,
I would have wished a different journey for you this past five years, and that Ted still graced this planet today. But I have been inspired by the courage and faith each of you has shown in the short time I've known you. I am grateful to have had time with Ted during dive classes, to know that the love between each of you and Ted is strong and can transcend physical boundaries. Ted's spirit is stronger still; keep your hearts open to his presence and feel his love.

Karen, Kyle and Samantha, I am so sorry for your loss. Ted is my cousin that I lost touch with some years ago. I have been told of what a wonderful husband and dad he turned out to be. I viewed recent photos on-line and it was very emotional to see everyone again. I will be seeing all of you this weekend for Ted's service. Lori and family.
