Clifford Pollock

Clifford E. Pollock VIRGINIA BEACH - Retired U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Clifford Eugene "Chick" Pollock passed away in his home Dec. 3, 2008, after a gallant fight against cancer surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Somerset, Pa., to the late John and Sarah Lehman Pollock and was married 53 years to the late Mary L. Pollock. After 30 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy, he retired in Virginia Beach. He was preceded in death by a brother, Channing and a sister, Patricia. Left to cherish his memory are a son, Cliff E. Pollock II of Texas; and five daughters, Vicki P. Dockery, Penny M. Pollock of Virginia Beach, Debra A. Lowe of Mississippi, Rhonda P. Bailey and Karen P. Hamilton of Virginia Beach. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Leon Pollock, Marri Pollock Stokes, Sarah Dockery Miller, Arthur Dockery III, Brody Bailey, Jason Lowe and Jeremy Hamilton; and three great-grandchildren, Thatcher Stokes, Ashton Bailey and Brody Pollock. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, a dedicated naval officer, good neighbor and friend. Viewing will be private. A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. Burial will be in Somerset, Pa., at a later date.
