Calvin Wills Obituary


Calvin W. Wills NORFOLK - Calvin Walker Wills, 84, passed away Dec. 5, 2008. Mr. Wills was born in Helen, W.Va. He attended West Virginia State School for the Deaf and worked as a coal miner briefly, then for 13 years as a printer in Welch, W.Va., and retired from The Virginian-Pilot after 32 years as a printer. He was a charter member of the Deaf Missionary Church. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, NASCAR and watching the Green Bay Packers. Survivors include his loving wife, Selma P. Wills; four children, Chris Wills and his wife Sarah of Smithfield, Donald Ray Wills of Portsmouth and their mother, Hazel Wills, and Ronald Jessup and Jill Marbaugh of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, Tabitha Jefferies and her husband Devin, Holly Rae Wills, Leslie Wills, Johnny Babb, Courtney Babb, Willie Evans and Ronald K. Jessup Jr.; and six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Branch of West Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel, where a funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Pam Culler. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may send tributes to www.mem.com.
