Stanley Williams Obituary


Stanley T. Williams Sr. CHESAPEAKE - Stanley Timothy Williams Sr., "Stanley T," 74, of the 1700 block of Spar St., passed away Dec. 3, 2008, in his residence. He was born in Camden County, N.C., on April 16, 1934, to the late Earl and Lonnie Williams. For 25 years, Stanley was employed by the Chesapeake Public Schools as a maintenance technician. He was a member of Better Life Ministries COGIC where he served as a deacon. Stanley was predeceased by his two children, Debora and Michael Williams and his sister, Queenie Bivens. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Julia Ernestine Williams of Chesapeake; six daughters, Karen McCoy (Joseph) of South Mills, N.C., Phyllis Owens of Suffolk, Tanya Jennings of Brooklyn, N.Y., JoAnne, Linda and Brenda Williams, all of Bronx, N.Y.; five sons, Timothy (Barbara) and Curtis Solmon (Sandra), both of Norfolk, Vance (Mary), Stanley Jr. and Ronnie, all of Bronx, N.Y.; one sister, Mabel Mercer; one brother, Earl Williams Jr.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Avenue. Pastor Duane S. McNair Sr. will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 1709 Spar St., Chesapeake, one hour prior to the service for the procession to the chapel. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Avenue Chapel, is in charge. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
