Callie Ennis Obituary
Callie W. Ennis PORTSMOUTH - Callie W. Ennis, 94, went to be with the Lord Dec. 7, 2008. A native of Coats, N.C., she was predeceased by her husband, Carlie, and a son, Robert. She is survived by seven children, Barbara Bryan and husband Gus of Portsmouth, Katherine Thomas of Suffolk, Jerry Ennis of Portsmouth, Carolyn Phelps and husband Bob of The Villages, Fla., Jimmy Ennis and wife Patricia of Suffolk, David Ennis and wife Sue of Isle of Wight and Teresa Hileman and husband Paul of Smithfield; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed a long and happy life. She was a member of The Alliance Church in Portsmouth for more than 65 years. She was a wonderful, kind and caring mother and housewife for all of those years and will be greatly missed. The good Lord had blessed her and her family; the family was blessed to have her for so many years. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in The Alliance Church, 5809 Portsmouth Blvd., by the Rev. Palmer Zerbe. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alliance Church. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
