Howard Zeno Obituary


Howard R. Zeno FRANKLIN - Howard Ray Zeno, 77, died Dec. 5, 2008. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Kolona Corliss Zeno, who passed away Nov. 30, 2008. He was born in Starksboro, Vt., a son of the late Fletcher Ray and Rosalie Stearns Zeno. A former resident of Suffolk, Howard and Kolona were former co-managers of the AAAA Self Storage on Portsmouth Boulevard. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Sedley Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Vanetta R. Darby of Burlington, Vt., Valerie L. Dutcher of Salem, Ore., Wendy S. Rhoten of Sedley; one son, Christopher H. Zeno of Franklin; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence "Flossie" Z. Kirby of Bristol, Vt.; two brothers, Kenneth and Fordyce Zeno, both of Lincoln, Vt. Mr. Zeno was predeceased by two infants, Pamela Kay and Howard R. Zeno Jr. and a great-granddaughter, Jazmyn Starnes. A memorial service for Howard and Kolona will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sedley Baptist Church with the Rev. Armand Jalbert officiating. A joint burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Bristol, Vt., at a later date. Memorials may be made in honor of Howard and Kolona to any favorite charity. Howard, From one comrade to another who worked side by side as heavy equipment operators for Pizzagalli Construction Company at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Suffolk, Virginia from January 19, 1981 to August 14, 1981. Our thoughts are with the precious children and grandchildren of Howard and Kony.
