Walter Whittington Obituary


Walter S. Whittington III MOYOCK - Walter Spainhour "Chuck" Whittington III, 49, died Dec. 7, 2008. Mr. Whittington was born in Norfolk, the son of the late Walter Spainhour Whittington II and Edna Louise Dickerson Whittington and was the husband of Teresa Harris Whittington. Mr. Whittington was an auto body technician who enjoyed his work. He was also a member of Moyock Baptist Church. Besides his wife, Mr. Whittington is survived by two daughters, Brandy Rheuark and husband Stevie of Portsmouth and Logan Whittington of Moyock; son, Dylan Whittington of Moyock; sister, Janice Roberson of Pinetown, N.C.; brother, Gary Boyd of Chocowinity, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Tyler Bell, Tanner Rheuark and Morgan Rheuark. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Boyd and his nephew, Travis Roberson. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in Moyock Baptist Church, 123 Oak St., with the Rev. Vic Ramsey officiating. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Moyock Baptist Church. Twiford Funeral Home is assisting the Whittington family. Teresa, you and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers during the last few weeks. I’ve reminisce much about living in Portsmouth, about football games in our back yard and special Christmases. May our Heavenly Father manifest Himself in love and grace.
