Barbara Sagraves Obituary


Barbara G. Sagraves NORFOLK - Barbara G. "Sweet Heart" Sagraves, 80, of the 8300 block of Millard St., passed away Dec. 9, 2008. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. A devoted member of her church, she also enjoyed spending time in her yard, her magnolia tree and walking her dog, Casey. A native of Norfolk, Barbara was a 1945 graduate of Kempsville High School and a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was retired from Maryland Casualty Insurance. She is survived by a son, John Richard Sagraves Jr. of Denver; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Utter of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Timothy and Cassandra Sagraves and Brian and Barry Utter; a sister, Betty Woo of Suffolk; a brother, Vernon Gardner of Chesapeake; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandchild, Jesse Sagraves; a sister, Mary Marjorie Kraemer; and a brother, Daniel F. Gardner Jr. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Ruby Fields officiating. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge. Kim and John,
I have so many memories of your mother while you were growing up, especially those of when Kim and Patti got in trouble which was often. Nearly every time I visited my parents your mom was always in her front yard with her dog. My prayers are with the family.
