Frances Gregory Obituary


Frances C. Gregory CHESAPEAKE - Frances C. Gregory, 80, of the 700 block of Benefit Road, died Dec. 13, 2008, after a short illness. Born in Norfolk County, Virginia, Frances was predeceased by her husband, Rupert, with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her father and mother, Sidney E. and Gertrude T. Charlton and her brother, Sidney E. "Sonny" Charlton Jr. Frances is survived by her daughter, Donna Mishler and her husband Lawrence; a son, Frank Gregory and his wife Joan; four loving grandchildren, Michelle Brinn and her husband Tommy, Jennifer Dudley and her husband Rommel, and Shane Gregory and Gretchen Gregory. She leaves behind four great-grandchildren who adored their "GiGi": Sutherlyn Brinn, Skylar Dudley, Josie Dudley and Wyatt Dudley. Frances is also survived by her loving sister, Jean Dryer; a sister-in-law, Jeannette Charlton; a niece, Cathy Charlton and two nephews, John and Rodger Gregory. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Hickory United Methodist Church, 2708 Battlefield Blvd. S., Chesapeake, by the Rev. Thomas L. Mercer. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall following the service. Our precious "GiGi" will be missed by all who knew and loved her so much. We treasure all of our wonderful memories of her and thank God for her life with us. We take comfort in knowing that she is at peace in the arms of the Lord. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hickory United Methodist Church/Elevator Fund. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake.
