Eric Heiner Obituary
Eric J. Heiner VIRGINIA BEACH - Eric Jason Heiner, 32, passed away Dec. 13, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. Eric was born in York, Pa., on Oct. 2, 1976. Eric was an active duty AT1, serving in the U.S. Navy for 12 years. In 2007, he was awarded the honor of Sailor of the Year, also receiving many other awards throughout his naval career. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, John L. and Barbara Kline Heiner; wife, Jody Heiner; sons, Hunter Heiner and Tucker Weidmann; grandfather, Robert Heiner of Pennsylvania; brothers, Steve Heiner, Nick Heiner of Pennsylvania and John L. Heiner Jr.; niece, Nicole Heiner; and nephew, Aaron Heiner, both of Pennsylvania. It was Eric's wishes to simply have his ashes buried at sea with no other services.
