Lois Taylor Obituary


Lois Robey Taylor NORFOLK - Lois Robey Taylor passed away peacefully Jan. 14, 2009, in her home in Madison Heights, Va., surrounded by her loving niece, Susan Coleman and her husband Bill Coleman and her wonderful caregiver, Eva Morris. Lois was born and attended high school in Alta Vista, Va. She moved to Norfolk and married Herman Taylor in the early 1950s. Lois worked for the federal civil service for 26 years and retired Sept. 13, 1976. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Herman Taylor; her mother and father, Florence and Alfred Robey; sister, Estelle Robey and three brothers, Luther, Harry and David Robey. A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. There will be a visitation from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk.

I hold dear the special memory of my visit with Lois in Lynchburg several years ago. She visited me when my mother died and also sent a special treasured gift when my husband died. She was a unique person who cared for family.
