Anne-Marie Gieselman Obituary


Anne-Marie Gieselman VIRGINIA BEACH - Anne-Marie "Biz" Gieselman was born Oct. 1, 1954, and passed away from the effects of ovarian cancer Jan. 12, 2009, in Virginia Beach. She was a good friend and was loved by many. Biz served in missionary work in Guatemala with her husband for several years soon after their marriage. She was an active member of St. Matthew's Parish for many years. Biz cherished her nursing career as an RN and nursing supervisor. Since 1981, she worked locally at Sentara Leigh Hospital. She is survived by her husband, George Gieselman; her children, Paul Gieselman and wife Jackie, Katie Drewiske and husband Jeff and Michael Gieselman; her grandson, Caleb Gieselman; and her siblings, Fr. Joe Mindling OFM Cap., Fr. Dan Mindling OFM Cap., and Sister Katie Mindling RSM. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur N. Mindling and Helen M. Mindling. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. with a viewing today at 6:30 p.m., both at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Gynecological Cancer Foundation via the website: www.thegcf.org. Condolences may be offered at www.altmeyer.com.
