Norman Haislip Obituary

Norman L. Haislip PORTSMOUTH - Norman Lloyd "Diggs" Haislip, 65, passed away Jan. 17, 2009, in a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Portsmouth and was the son of the late William A. and Dorothy Sutton Haislip. He was known as a friend to all and lived life to the fullest. He is predeceased by two brothers, Robert "Bobby" Haislip and William "Billy" Haislip. He is survived by his wife, Jill L. Haislip; two sons, Tracy L. Haislip of Portsmouth and Christopher Scott Haislip of Winter Haven, Fla.; a sister, Frances S. Alexander and husband Richard of Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Nelson F. Fields. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oasis Social Ministry in Portsmouth or a favorite charity of choice. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Diggs. I knew Diggs from The Barrel and Someplace. I have fond memories of hanging out with him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
