Ruth Jamieson Obituary

Ruth Elizabeth Jamieson CHESAPEAKE - Ruth Elizabeth Jamieson, 80, formerly of Eagle Point Drive, passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, in a Chesapeake hospital. She was a native of Bondurant, Iowa, and was a retired bookkeeper for Desco Lighting Co. She was the widow of Hugh E. Jamieson. She is survived by her daughter, Christine J. Hamblett and husband James of Moyock, N.C.; her son, Paul E. Jamieson and wife Karen of Chesapeake; her sister, Judy Webb of Tavares, Fla.; and her brother, Robert Smith of Bondurant, Iowa. She is also survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Jamieson of Virginia Beach and Naomi King of West Virginia. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Smith. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Colonial Grove Memorial Park by the Rev. Victor Culberson. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
