Clyde Uzzell Obituary

C. Wesley Uzzell Jr. NORFOLK - Clyde Wesley Uzzell Jr., 73, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, in his residence. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late Clyde Wesley Uzzell Sr. Wesley retired from Greenwich Supply Corp. after many years of service. He was a graduate of Maury High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was member of Central Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and Sunday school director. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Janet Dudley Gale Uzzell; his mother, Nell Estelle Melton Uzzell of Norfolk; a sister, Anne U. Soule of La Canada, Calif.; and a brother, Everett M. Uzzell of Norfolk. A graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 3501 Providence Road, Hayes, Va., followed by a memorial service conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Central Baptist Church by Dr. Albert Peverall. A reception will follow in the church social hall. The family will be at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, Tuesday for a visitation with friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church, 701 W. Olney Road, Norfolk, VA 23507.
