Cora Achor Obituary

Cora Helen Achor VIRGINIA BEACH - Cora Helen Achor, 86, passed away Jan. 18, 2009. Born in Abington, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Lena Card and was the widow of Walter Achor. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Rowe and husband Mills of The Villages, Fla.; grandchildren, Tracey Antley and husband Mark of Chesapeake, Lori Ruderman and husband Greg of Herndon, Va., and Kristie Verniel and husband Marc of Blacksburg, Va.; great-grandchildren, Megan Antley, Rebecca Antley, Drew Ruderman, Jake Verniel and Riley Verniel. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. Tom Mercer will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.omanfh.com.

When I saw the notice of Cora's passing in the newspaper, I was taken back many years to when I
was in the Girl Scout's and Cora was
our leader. I appreciated all she did for us girls in River Oaks. My condolences to the family.
