Phillip Holmes Obituary

Phillip E. Holmes I SUFFOLK - Phillip Edward "Dr. Duck and Candyman" Holmes I, 69, passed away Jan. 20, 2009, in his residence. He was a native of Savona, Ohio, and was a son of the late Myrtle and Stanley A. Holmes Sr. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rose A. Holmes; a daughter, Marcia Holmes; a son, Edward A. Holmes; four sisters; 11 brothers; a grandson, Phillip E. Holmes II.; two grandchildren, Julian Linblad and Hailey Holmes. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Western Branch Community Church by Pastor Steve Hassell. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
