Mildred Freeman Obituary

Mildred B. Freeman YORKTOWN - Mildred Louise Brown Freeman, widow of Edward Freeman, died Jan. 23, 2009. She was born in Isle of Wight County, a daughter of the late Charley Benjamin Brown and Anna Maude Holland Brown Braswell. Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie B. Boyd and husband Lloyd Allen of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; three grandchildren, Brandon Boyd, Kenneth Boyd and wife Rita and Kevin Boyd; eight great-grandchildren, Joe, Scott, Jordan, Brittany, Jeremy, Jason, Elyssia and Kayla; one sister, Susie Mae Sovereign of Glendive, Mont.; one brother, George Robert "Pete" Brown of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ms. Brown was predeceased by three sisters, Ruth Whiteman, Irene McClenny and Dorothy Anne Brown; and four brothers, Frank Brown, William Earl Brown, Charlie "Bubba" Brown and Clarence "Sonny" Brown. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Susan M. Reaves officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity. www.wrightfuneralhome.
