William Paschal Lancaster Jr.

W. Paschal Lancaster Jr. HERTFORD - William Paschal Lancaster Jr., 79, of the 100 block of Small Drive, died Jan. 23, 2009, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk. Mr. Lancaster was born in Trenton, Tenn., and was the son of the late William P. Sr. and Margaret Morgan Lancaster. An owner/operator of a heating and air-conditioning business, he was a longtime member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the Durants Neck Ruritan Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Winnifred Forbes Lancaster, who died in July 2007 and a brother, Henry A. Lancaster. Surviving are his daughters, Amanda Kowal and husband Victor of Palm Coast, Fla., Margaret Davenport and husband Charles of Newport News, Va., Cindy Harris and husband Tom of Hertford, N.C., and Nan Evans, also of Hertford; sons, Tommy Lancaster and wife Belinda of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Pat Lancaster and wife Lisa of Dorchester, S.C.; a sister, Virginia Henry of Buffalo, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in New Hope United Methodist Church by Pastor Bill Masciangelo. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and all other times at the home of Tom and Cindy Harris, 655 Deep Creek Road, Hertford.
