Wanda Reis Obituary

Wanda L. Reis CHESAPEAKE - Wanda L. "Granny" Reis, 77, went to be with the Lord Jan. 25, 2009. Born in Akron, Ohio, to the late Hazel Ruby Neidleheizer and Ray Ruby. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Reis Jr., who was the "love of her life" and her eldest son, Johnny Reis. She is survived by her three children, Vickie Gorde of Newport News, Cathy Cowell of Chesapeake and Mike Reis of Virginia Beach and their spouses. She is also survived by one brother, John Ray Ruby and preceded by brother, Charles Ruby, both residents of Ohio. A grandmother of six and a great- grandmother of three, she had a host of extended family and friends she dearly loved and who called her their "mom," "aunt" and "granny." She was a prior member of Ocean View Christian Reformed Church where she attended for more than 20 years. Wanda most recently attended First Baptist Church of Norfolk where she was a proud member of the "Wow Girls" bible study. Wanda was a loving mother, "granny" and aunt who will be dearly missed. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 6568 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
