Jeffrey L. Cooke

Jeffrey L. Cooke MOYOCK - Jeffrey Lynn Cooke, 41, of Ratcliffe Road, died Jan. 24, 2009, in his home after an illness of one year. Mr. Cooke, a native of Portsmouth, was a welder with the Public Works Center at the Norfolk Naval Station. Prior to his disability retirement, he was an outdoorsman and a hunting and dirt bike enthusiast. Survivors include his wife, Marie C. Cooke; mother, Gail Basham Cooke of Portsmouth; three children, Walter Allen, Daniel Meyette and Corey Cooke, all of North Carolina; and a brother, Vernon Owen Cooke of Denver, Colo. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Foster Funeral Home by Chaplain Marie Pogorelec. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
