Thelma V. Baker

Thelma V. Baker NORFOLK - Thelma V. Baker, 68, of the 8400 block of Portal Road, passed away Jan. 24, 2009. She was born Oct. 23, 1940, to the late Mary I. and Adrian C. Baker in Hackensack, N.J. She was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church, Norfolk. Thelma retired from Walmart after six years of service as a greeter. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Renee Harris, Shirelle Baker and Christine Baker, all of Norfolk, and Bernardine Baker of Leesburg; one son, Reginald Baker of Leesburg; four sisters, Rosalie Simmons of Tampa, Fla., Marylou Baker, Clarice Baker Dover and the Rev. Mozelle "Rosalind" Clyburn, all of Plainfield, N.J.; two brothers, Addison Mozelle (Joyce) of Portsmouth and Grover Baker (Linda) of Oneonta, N.Y.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Queen Street Baptist Church, 413 E. Brambleton Ave. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk.
