Harry Bunch Obituary

Harry Bunch Jr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Harry Bunch Jr., 72, passed away peacefully Jan. 26, 2009, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Bunch was born Sept. 16, 1936, to Harry and Notie Bunch Sr. in Hartsville, S.C. He was a 1955 graduate of Norview High School. Harry served our country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. After his service, he began his career at Bay Chevrolet where he worked in the parts department for more than 20 years. Harry was an active member of Haygood United Methodist Church since 1959 where he taught Sunday school for many years. He was a lay leader of the church, served on the Pastor Parish Committee, Church Council, Grounds Committee, and was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Men. When Mr. Bunch wasn't working, serving the church, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Toni Pumo Bunch; daughter, Angela Duffer; mother, Notie Bunch; brother, James Bunch and wife Sue; two sisters, Nancy Gray and friend Tom Ward and Ginger Marshall and husband Gary; and two grandchildren, Colston and Garrett Duffer. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Haygood United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. Please share your love and condolences with the family at www.mem.com.
