Michael Pendergraft Obituary

Michael L. Pendergraft CHESAPEAKE - Michael Lee Pendergraft, 60, of the 2500 block of Hanover Lane, died Jan. 28, 2009, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital. A native of Springfield, Ohio, he retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years during which he served in Operation Desert Storm. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth and was the senior vice commander of DAV Chapter 22. Survivors include his wife, Dale E. Pendergraft; three sons, Larry Brian Pendergraft of Verona., Ky., Steven Michael Pendergraft of Daleville, Ala., and Matthew Aaron Pendergraft of Chesapeake; three sisters; two brothers; and six grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to DAV Chapter 22, 4648 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23701. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
