Mary Arnold Obituary

Mary E. Arnold CHESAPEAKE - Mary Elizabeth Arnold, 76, passed away Jan. 27, 2009, in a local hospital. Mrs. Arnold was born in Norfolk County Nov. 21, 1932. She worked at Chesapeake General Hospital for many years. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Lillian I. and Isiacar Stevens; two brothers, Willie C. Stevens formerly of Portsmouth and Joseph L. Stevens formerly of Chesapeake. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Willie Arnold Sr.; two sisters, Lillian V. Stevens and Janice S. Gibbs of Chesapeake; 16 children, William Arnold of Atlanta, Ernestine Daughtry, Mary Tucker, Lillian Lawrimore, Willie Arnold Jr., Leslie Arnold, Donald Alexander, Lamont Arnold, Antonio Arnold, Shekida Green, Leslie Arnold Jr., Star Arnold and Brittany Arnold of Chesapeake, Ronald Alexander of Suffolk, Kimberly Arnold of Virginia Beach and William Frost Jr. of Norfolk; 29 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is truly loved and missed. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday in Emmanuel True Holiness Church, 2503 Deep Creek Blvd., Portsmouth. The family will assemble at 1607 Faulk St., Chesapeake, at 11 a.m. for the processional. The body will be in the church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. A viewing will be held today from 3:30 to 8 p.m. in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Homes, Norfolk Chapel. www.carlosahowardfuneralhomes.com.

May God keep and bless all of you sorry to hear this sad news but Mrs. Arnold was a wonderful person always there taking care of children now she is in God's care may she rest in peace.
