Martavius L. Mizell

Martavius L. Mizell PORTSMOUTH - Martavius Lamont Mizell departed this world Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, in Portsmouth. Although he was here only three short months, his life was a blessing to his loving parents and family. Martavius was born Oct. 8, 2008, in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center and weighed 8 pounds and 9 ounces. He loved to smile, loved to laugh and loved to play. He was given the nickname "Little Luke" by his grandmother, but was mainly called "Marty" by others. Even though Martavius' time on earth was short, we know his spirit is now free and that he is resting in the hands of God and smiling upon us. Martavius is survived by his loving mother, Veronica Bell, father, Octavius Mizell and an older brother, Octavion Mizell; grandmother, Christine Bell; great-grandmother, Alice Powell; and an uncle, Dominique Powell. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel.
