Betsy and family,
It was my privilege to be able to serve with George on the Liberty. Without him the young green sailors like me would not be alive today. We wish you the best in your recovery from your loss. It is a loss to all of us.

Mr. Golden and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. I always looked forward to attending the Liberty reunions with my Dad and seeing my extended family and sharing memories and making new ones, the ones I have of the Golden family are very sweet. Thanks for sharing him with me.

George was one of the finest men I had the honor to meet and get to know through his daughter Linda. George and Bessie always welcomed me in their home and made me feel at home. I'll never forget the ways his eyes sparkled at the mention of his wifes name, they just lit up, the same with his daughters. George and I shared many laughs together. I will miss him.
