Mattie Everton Obituary

Mattie L. Everton NORFOLK - Mattie Lear Everton, 83, of the 6400 block of Granby St., passed away Feb. 2, 2009, at a local hospital. Born in Littleton, N.C., Mattie was the widow of Robert Lee Everton and a member of Norview Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and Nana. Mattie is survived by a daughter, Joyce Everton Shafer and husband Buddy of Norfolk and three grandchildren, Justin, Jordan and wife Kim and Robert. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
