Ellen Williams PORTSMOUTH - Ellen Williams, 72, formerly of the 100 block of Allard Road, made her transition peacefully from earth to glory Jan. 29, 2009. She was born May 3, 1936, in Southampton County, Virginia, to the late Rev. Peter and Lillie Boykin's. She was predeceased by her first husband, Russell H. Scott and her second husband, Felton Williams. She retired from Autumn Care and was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Carolyn Skinner of Portsmouth, Angela Scott of Chesapeake, Cynthia Frazer and Veronica Kelly both of Norfolk; and two sons, Russell Scott of Portsmouth and Nathan Scott of Chesapeake; a sister, Floyd Mae Holley of Suffolk; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a devoted brother-in-law, Charles Scott; eight sister-in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Portsmouth. Bishop Curtis Edmonds will officiate. Steele-Bullock Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Viewing will begin today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at 268 Hansen Ave., Portsmouth.
