Margaret Milazzo Obituary

Margaret Marie Milazzo VIRGINIA BEACH - Margaret Marie "Marge" Milazzo passed away Feb. 2, 2009, in her home in Virginia Beach. She was born in New York City on Dec. 8, 1917, to Dominick and Rose Blois. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Dominick; daughter, Marilyn O'Donnell and husband John; daughter, Patricia; grandson, Sean O'Donnell; granddaughter, Patricia Bruwelheide and husband Michael; and great-grandsons, Mason, Evan and Gavin Bruwelheide, all of Virginia Beach. Marge attended Saint Anthony Grammar School, Washington Irving High School and New York University at Washington Square Park where she majored in business. She then worked as assistant to the president of L&C Mayers Jewelry Company until she married June 15, 1941. In 1945, she, her husband and two daughters moved to Nutley, N.J. After her girls were grown, she worked for Carl Orechio, a Nutley commissioner and later state assemblyman for 20 years as his personal secretary and legislative aide. She also served on several charitable organizations. Marge enjoyed swimming, ballroom dancing and especially cooking and entertaining friends and family. Her genuine care and interest in each person she met and her positive attitude made her a delight to all who knew her. She is very loved and will be sorely missed. A joyful Mass of the Resurrection to celebrate Marge's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Church of the Holy Family Catholic Church, 1279 North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach. A Christian wake will also be held at the church Thursday from 7 to 7:30 p.m. followed by a visitation until 9 p.m. The committal will be at a later date in the columbarium at Holy Family. My Aunt Marge truly bore the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. I never heard her speak poorly of anyone and her smile reflected her genuine heart. On Aunt Marge's 50th birthday, I remember she said to me with a smile, "Now I'm half a century!" She lived almost another half. Uncle Dom, together you and Aunt Marge have sown beautiful seeds in the lives of Marilyn, Pat, Jack, your grandchildren and now great-grandchildren. My love to you all.

One of the best places to be as a kid was at "Aunt Marge and Uncle Dom's". I send lots of love to Uncle Dom, Marilyn, Pat, Jack, Sean, Trish, Mike and the kids. Now we all have another angel watching us from heaven.
