Ludie Cotton Obituary

Ludie D. Cotton VIRGINIA BEACH - Ludie D. Cotton went home to be with her Lord and Savior Feb. 3, 2009. She was born in Sampson County, North Carolina, Oct. 17, 1914. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Harvey B. Cotton and a grandson, Jeffrey Stephen Hann Menzel. She is survived by two daughters, Jean C. Hann and husband Harry and Vicki C. Baylor and husband Jimmy; three grandchildren, Jerald L. Hann and wife Irma of Graham, N.C., Jean-Marie Cabaniss and husband Patrick and Patricia Hann, both of Virginia Beach; granddaughter-in-law, Fonda Menzel of Virginia Beach; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jerald Jr., Andrew, Nathaniel and Jeffrey Hann, Kacie and Jacob Rehpelz, Kendall and Hanna Cabaniss, Chelsea Menzel and Angie Rutherford. She was devoted to her husband, her family and her church, Westwood Hills Baptist, until she became unable to attend because of illness. She loved her home, garden and her many flowers and plants. Her family would like to thank the many caregivers for their loving care and kindness during her illness. Special thanks to Lina Collins for her loving care and devotion she gave our mother. A funeral will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Shoaf officiating. The burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
