Frances Weirich Obituary

Frances C. Weirich VIRGINIA BEACH - Frances Carmack Weirich was in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital when she went to be with the Lord Feb. 3, 2009. She was surrounded by family. She was 84. She was born in Birmingham, Ala., to the late Posie and Louise Carmack Dec. 12, 1924. She attended Alabama College for Women in Birmingham. She met her husband of more than 50 years at an Alabama football game. The Navy brought the couple to Virginia Beach in the late 50s and that became their home. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church for more than 50 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with family and friends. She was one of the founders of the "Tuesday Bridge Club" where she was a member for 44 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ernest Weirich and son, Wayne Ernest Weirich formerly of Richmond. She is survived by Wayne's wife, Linda; sons, Michael James and wife Martha and Dwight Samuel and wife Cynthia, all of Virginia Beach and Stephen Paul of Livingston, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jimmy and wife Keri, Marianne, Susan, Caroline, Kimberly, Bryan and Mark; and a great-granddaughter, Taylor. A celebration of her life will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Virginia Beach Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park with a reception following at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Aunt Frances was a wonderful lady and one whom we admired a great deal. We will never forget her sweet personality and her wonderful sense of humor.
