William F. Wales

William F. Wales CHESAPEAKE - William Franklin "Billy" Wales, 71, of the 800 block of Willow Spire Arch, passed away Feb. 4, 2009. Born in Manns Harbor, N.C., he was the son of the late George Robert Wales and Layland M. Twiford Wales. He served in the Air Force and retired from Ford Motor Company after 33 years, where he was a representative to the U.A.W. He was a member of the Corinthian Lodge No. 266 AF&AM and the Scottish Rites Bodies. Survivors include his wife, Hilda G. Wales; a stepson, Danny Platt and wife Ginger of Centerville, Texas; a daughter, Malisa Bowman and husband David of Chesapeake; a foster daughter, Sherry Swafford; a sister, Donna Allbrooks and husband Edwin; a brother, Bobby Twiford and wife Jackie; grandchildren, Robbie Platt, Dana Platt, Jason Graham and wife Natalie and Jessica Graham Wiseman and husband Rich; great-grandchildren, Dominique, Kathline, Trace and Travis. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. Following the visitation, the funeral with Masonic rites will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles L. Moseley will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
