Curtis Brodnax Obituary

Curtis L. Brodnax NORFOLK - Curtis L. "Tuck" Brodnax, 76, of the 1000 block of Meads Road, passed away Feb. 3, 2009, in Virginia Beach. He was born Aug. 4, 1932, to the late Flossie R. and Henry Brodnax in Norfolk. He was educated in the Norfolk public school system. Curtis retired from Seafarers after 30 years of service as a merchant seaman. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and served on the Loving Care Committee until his health failed. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 60. He was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth S. Brodnax; two grandchildren, Leslie Perkins and Christopher Green reared by Curtis and Elizabeth; two stepdaughters; three stepsons; one brother, Rudolph Brodnax (Tremella); nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a special friend, Calvin Bass Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 934 W. Little Creek Road. The Rev. William Davis will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at 1041 Meads Road one hour prior to the service for the procession to the church. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
