Ella B. Napier VIRGINIA BEACH - Ella Winfield Bruce Napier, 88, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away surrounded by loved ones early Friday morning, Feb. 6, 2009. A native of Chesapeake, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Winfield. Ella was preceded in death by her two husbands, Edwin F. "Jim" Bruce and Troy Napier and six brothers and sisters. She was a member of Indian River Baptist Church for 50 years and was a former member of the choir and Merry Makers. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Bowers and husband Jack; grandson, Adam Brown and wife Karen; granddaughter, Jennifer Brown Sherman and husband Jed; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Indian River Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Jordan officiating. The burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
