Terry Weeks Obituary

Terry V. Weeks NORFOLK - Terry V. Weeks, 52, went to be with the Lord Feb. 15, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 12, 1956, in Salisbury, Md. It is said "behind every good man there is an even better woman" and that is a perfect description of Terry. Forgoing an opportunity for a career of her own, she chose to stand behind her husband, to support him during his 15 years in the United States Marine Corps, his associate's degree, 12 years in the Sheriff's Department and the past eight years in the Army Reserves. Terry chose a career as homemaker, a stay at home mom for her children, and the rock her husband needed and while doing all of this, found time to work part time as a child nutritionist at Granby High School and was a graduate of the Philadelphia Training Center as a nurses assistant. According to her husband Ron, he would never have been able to achieve the things he did if it hadn't been for Terry's strength, love and support. Terry was preceded in death by her oldest son, Tyri A. Weeks. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Ronald Weeks of Norfolk, two sons, Donte and Daron Carr; one daughter, Akai L. Carr; two stepdaughters, Rhonda R. Weeks Gradey and husband Jerome, Kalise A. Weeks; her mother, Beatrice Carr; two sisters, Bonnie Awosika and husband Valentine and Odena Foreman and husband Jeffrey; 11 grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. You may offer your love and condolences to the family at www.mem.com.
