Sarah Williams Obituary

Sarah C. Williams VIRGINIA BEACH - Sarah Chaplain Williams, 91, died Feb. 21, 2009. A native of Pungo, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Minnie Chaplain and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis M. Williams Jr. Mrs. Williams worked for the Virginia Beach, Alexandria and Richmond school systems. She was a member of Galilee Episcopal Church. She was an active volunteer at the church as well as Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Mrs. Williams is survived by her children, Tony Williams and his wife Sheila of Cape May, N.J., and Robin Blair and her husband Bill of Alexandria, Va.; her brother, Oscar S. Chaplain Jr. and his wife Betty of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Galilee Episcopal Church with the Rev. James B. Magness and the Rev. Kathleen M. Bobbitt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Galilee Memorial Fund. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sally, her family and her many friends. We have so many wonderful memories of times we spent with Sally. Think how happy she and Bill are now that they are together. May God bless us all.
