Winford Griffin Obituary

Winford M. Griffin CHESAPEAKE - Mr. Winford M. Griffin, 65, of the 700 block of Waters Road, died Feb. 21, 2009, in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mrs. Devine Griffin; three children, Sherrice Burfoot, Antoinette Tyler and Joaquin Griffin; three grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. All friends and family are welcome to join his daughters at 1332 Douglas Ave., Portsmouth, for a celebration of his life. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Chapel. The family will meet at his residence on Waters Road, in Chesapeake, to proceed to the funeral.

Aunt Dovie,

I'm so sorry to hear about Uncle Winford. He was one of my favorite uncles and it was my intention to visit both of you long before now. I hope to attend the homegoing service tomorrow and plan to meet the family at Metropolitan. My sincerest condolences.
