Linwood Shelley Obituary

Linwood Shelley NORFOLK - Linwood Shelley, 53, known as "Shelley" passed away peacefully Feb. 23, 2009, in Washington Hospital, Washington, D.C. He was born July 21, 1955, the eldest son of the late Lindbird Shelley and Verna Foust in Norfolk. He was predeceased by a brother, George Shelley. He is survived by his wife, Iris Shelley; his sons, Brandyn, Bryce and Issac, all of Seat Pleasant, Md.; four sisters, Josephine Simon (Ernest) of Norfolk, Margaret Southall (George) of Chesapeake, Ruth Jones of District Heights, Md., and Constance Shelley of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Ave. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 811 Maltby Crescent, Norfolk, one hour prior to the service for the procession to the chapel. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
