Amelia Ryals Obituary

Amelia Vaughan Ryals PORTSMOUTH - Amelia Vaughan Ryals, 89, of Charlottesville, formerly of Portsmouth and Costa Rica, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord Feb. 25, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Beverly D. Vaughan and David W. Ryals. She is survived by her daughter, Irene Vaughan Soderquist and her husband Dr. James P. Soderquist and faithful family friends, Betty and Norman Williams and their family. She loved gardening, music, and her many adopted pets. She leaves behind many friends at Jefferson Heights. In consideration of her love for animals, the family asks that those who wish may make a contribution to their local SPCA. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
