Cynthia Nellum Obituary

Cynthia Nellum NORFOLK - Cynthia Elaine Nellum, 71, of the 3600 block of Wedgefield Ave., passed away Feb 24, 2009, in Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. She was a native of Norfolk. She was a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Church, Norfolk, 23509, where she was also the mother of the church. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School where was also a majorette. She is survived by seven daughters, Myla A. Nellum Dildy, Juvonne Banks, June N. Porter, Miranda Overton, Cherry Clemons, Renie Smith and Lisa Joyner; two sons, John W. Nellun and Jay D. Nellum; two sisters, one brother, 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., March 3, 2009, in Good News Family Worship Center, 925 N. Military Hwy., Norfolk, with Elder Ernestine Burton officiating. Interment will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be Monday at 2 p.m. with the family receiving relatives and friends for remembrance and vistation Monday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Beach Funeral Services Inc., 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach. My condolences go out to the entire Nellum family. Ms. Cynthia was such a kind-hearted, giving person. She had a beautiful smile and a laugh that was contagious. She touched so many lives in ways she probably never even imagined. She will be greatly missed.
