Janet Pattee Obituary

Janet E. Pattee NORFOLK - Janet Earle Pattee, 63, passed away Feb. 27, 2009, in the comfort of her home. Born June 11, 1945, to the late Charles and Amanda Pattee in Norfolk. She was retired from Signet Bank after several years of dedicated service. Janet loved Snoopy and all the Peanuts Gang, Washington Redskins, New York Yankees, computer and video games, and shopping, especially QVC. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving, generous, outgoing person. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Sandra Lee Pattee; close cousins, Lillie H. Brothers and Anne B. McMillan, other cousins, a nephew; and two much loved cats, "Scamper" and "Bridget." She was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Charles Ray Pattee. The family would like to send a special thanks to Dee Knight, Don Nienkerk and our other neighbors, Janet's friends from Signet Bank, Dr. Bethany B. Tan, Darlene French NP, Sentara Leigh Hospital Medical Group, Sentara Home Health Care and Hospice for all their help and support. Janet did not want any services after her death. She wanted those who knew her to celebrate her life and remember her in their own way. Burial will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Smith and Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family. Please share your love and condolences with the family at www.mem.com. "Scamper, Bridget and I love you baby sister, and will remember and miss you always."

Dear Cousin Sandra,

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know that they are happy. Author Unknown

No words can express the sadness in my heart. I was trying to get home to visit you and Janet, but need eye surgery first. I didn't realize how long Janet had been sick. God bless you Sandra, please keep in touch and when I get home I'm coming over for a visit. With love.

Sanda, I'm sorry to learn of your loss; I grew up in Norview(the Big Dipper was my favorite place)and I'm Ray's and Becky Twine's age. I lived on Chesapeake St.
