Juanita J. Dognia

Juanita J. Dognia CHESAPEAKE - Juanita Jennings Dognia, 48, peacefully departed this life Feb. 26, 2009, after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 22, 1960, to the late Elder Thomas E. Jennings Sr. and Jean Juanita Nixon Jennings in Norfolk. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Dognia. Juanita was a 1978 graduate of Indian River High School, Chesapeake, and attended St. Augustine's College, Raleigh, N.C. She leaves to cherish her memory her stepmother, Iris Marie Jennings of Chesapeake; her son, Sorrad Ali Dognia; her daughter, Specialist Shanita D. Dognia, U.S. Army, Iraq; eight brothers, Thabit Jelani (Jacqueline) of Virginia Beach, Robert L. Jennings, Nelson Lee Jennings, Darnell Jennings, Elder Ray A. Jennings (Deborah), all of Chesapeake, Dr. Keith L. Jennings, Darryl K. Jennings (Debra) and Carl Joyner, all of Atlanta; four sisters, Angelia J. Johnson (Rev. Carl) of Raleigh, N.C., Bonnie J. Turner of Chesapeake, Paula F. Jennings of Virginia Beach and Romega Clark of Chesapeake; two paternal aunts, Zelpha Whidbee and Mary Green, both of Chesapeake; and a host of other relatives and friends. A homegoing service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Bethany Baptist Church, 2587 Campostella Road, Chesapeake. Elder Robert L. Jennings will officiate. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 1208 Fenton St., Virginia Beach, one hour prior to service for procession to the church.
