Bob Aldous Obituary

Bob Aldous VIRGINIA BEACH - Bob (King) Aldous, 83, known to many as "Super Daddy," passed away March 4, 2009, after a short illness. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Aldous owned and operated his own businesses, Air King TV and Nevada Auto Sales in New York. He retired from the New York State government. His hobbies included fishing and being an avid stock car racer. He was a jack-of-all -trades. He was predeceased in death by his parents, George and Mildred Aldous; sister, Betty Kelly; and his loving wife, Claire. He is survived by three children, Catherine Jones and her husband Jerry of Palmyra, Va., Robert Aldous and his wife Cathy of King George, Va., and Dariel Vandett and her husband Tony of Suffolk; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Millie Philips and Ruth Bishop, both of North Carolina; longtime companion, Sheila Shiel of Virginia Beach. His body is being donated to science. There will be no memorial service at this time. The family would like to thank Virginia Beach Social Services and Hospice for their loving care. Bob Aldous was quite a character and fixure at Colony Pines Apts and will truly be missed by a lot of residents here. My condolences go to all of his family.
